Lough Gowna is our nearest lake but there are over 365 lakes in Cavan. Lakeside Lodge is near the small town of Arvagh, which is famous as the only place in Ireland where the three Provinces meet ie. Ulster, Leinster and Connaught which makes it a great central point from to explore the surrounding area. The village of Aughnacliffe is in the other direction and is famous for it's ancient dolmen. You are now in the real, green centre of rural Ireland. We can accommodate up to 34 guests in the main house with extra beds in the new glamping caravans and soon in the tree house too.  All of our rooms are en suite. There are private & family rooms as well as the larger dorms. We provide a free simple self service breakfast or you can cook your own as well as any other meals in our fully equipped kitchen. You may prefer to dine in town or get a takeaway. For groups, we can arrange for a registered caterer to look after dinner for you.  This must be booked in advance. There is free parking including space for a bus, lockers, wifi as well as free tea and coffee.  There are fresh herbs in our organic garden that you can pick free for a herb tea or to use for you dinner.

The main lounge is a great place to mingle with other guests. There is a with wide screen tv for a movie or you can borrow a game of chess, monopoly etc. The games room is popular with for a game of table tennis, fuzzball, darts etc. Outside say hello to Eddie, our donkey and some of the other pets, our dog Buddy, our cat Guinness and get some fresh eggs from our hens. Stretch the legs with a stroll down to the lake or head off for a spot of fishing. If you have children they can have fun in the local playground in Arvagh or Leebeen Park, Aughnacliffe. There are BBQ facilities in the garden, so on a bright evening throw some meat on the grill and dine al fresco, while taking in the views, chat with other guests and if your lucky there will be somebody musical who will get a sing song going.

The local shops in Arvagh and Aughnacliffe have everything you should need- post office, banks, butcher, grocer, fast food, pubs, pharmacy, charity shop, supermarket, beauty salon, hairdressers and somewhere to buy a fuel or a fishing rod and angling supplies if needed.
